Honoring What Still Matters Most

As we step into a new year, January often invites reflection — on where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, and how we want to move forward.

In dementia care, a “new year” doesn’t always look like fresh starts or clean slates. Instead, it often asks us to recommit to presence, patience, and compassion — to meeting each moment as it is, and honoring what still matters most.

At Trinity Dementia Training everything starts with one goal: improving the quality of life for those living with dementia. That change begins with you, the caregiver. Through education, training, support, and hands-on strategies, we empower professionals and families alike to bring more dignity, understanding, and connection to every stage of care.

Beginning the Year with Intention

There is hope for those living with dementia… it lies in the way we provide care.

The start of a new year is a powerful time to pause and ask:

  • How can I show up more fully for those I care for?
  • How can I deepen my understanding of dementia?
  • How can I care for myself while caring for others?

Education is one of the most meaningful ways to bring confidence, clarity, and calm into dementia care — whether you are a professional caregiver, healthcare provider, or family member walking this journey alongside someone you love.

Upcoming Dementia Care Training Opportunities

If advancing your knowledge and skills is part of your intention for 2026, I invite you to join me for one of our upcoming training seminars.
A beneficial way to enhance your dementia education is to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) or a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP) through the International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, a division of the NCCDP.

The Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) credential is recognized nationwide as a mark of excellence in dementia care. The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar is required for those pursuing certification as a CDP.

The Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP) credential is recognized as the ultimate Person-Centered Care Model. Montessori isn’t just a teaching model… At its heart, it’s about honoring individuals- their strengths, their choices, and their stories.
